Ex-Maiden High School band director, Christopher Caldwell has been scheduled to appear in Catawba County Superior Court on Monday, May 16 at 9:00 am. Caldwell is charged with having sex with one of his students. This case has been delayed for wa-a-a-y over a year. and probably will be continued to an even later date. *sigh*

Deliberations resume in Catawba
County murder case

NEWTON, N.C. (AP) — Jurors will return to a Catawba Countycourtroom to decide the fate of a 24-year-old man charged withmurder in the death of a teen three years ago.
The Hickory Daily Record reports that jurors deliberated aboutthree hours Friday before sending a note to the judge saying they were at an impasse. They were sent home and asked to return Tuesday morning to continue deliberations
Authorities say shot 17-year-old DeAngelo Miller between the eyes. Harrison says he acted in self-defense because Miller pointed a gun at him. But prosecutors argue that Miller was unarmed.
NOTE: This may end in a mistrial. Caldwell should be tried next.
