If the speed limit is 65 mph and you drive 80 mph, you get a ticket.  That’s the law.  The law also says that a convicted child molester cannot live within one thousand feet of a school.  It has been reported that THAD SHANNON CAMPBELL lives 821 feet from a school.  The law ignores him.  Somethin’ ain’t right.

This CHILD MOLESTER lives 821 FEET from a school, as the map shows.  The above mugshot has been updated since our last report.  The current report indicates that he HAS NOT moved from 2949 LAWRENCE DR.

His residence location appears as the RED SQUARE on the map and the school appears as the WHITE SQUARE with the X.

PERVO NEWS

Convicted child-sex offender Charlie Price, 57, was arrested in Pittsfield, Mass., in October, but only for disturbing the peace — because the “victim” was merely made of cardboard. Price, spotting a sunglasses display in a Rite-Aid pharmacy, had begun kissing and licking the face of the pictured model, and groping her. [The Berkshire Eagle]

FLYING HIGH

Larry Walters made history in 1982 with perhaps the most famous balloon ride of all time — in an ordinary lawn chair, lifted by 45 helium-filled weather balloons — soaring to over 16,000 feet in Southern California before descending by shooting the balloons one by one. In 2008, gas station manager Kent Couch of Bend, Ore., made a similar lawn-chair flight and had scheduled another, for November 2011, to float over now-allegedly peaceful Baghdad, to raise money for Iraqi orphans. (Couch subsequently postponed his flight until March 2012 to give the charities more time to organize.) [Los Angeles Times, 11-4-2011; The Pantagraph (Bloomington, Ill.)-AP]

OBITUARY

Tarzan’s jungle chum Cheeta dead at 80

CHEETA the chimpanzee, who starred alongside Tarzan from the movies of the early 1930s through to the 1960s TV series, has died at the age of 80.

The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in Florida announced that Cheeta had died of kidney failure on Christmas Eve.

Sanctuary outreach director Debbie Cobb told The Tampa Tribune that Cheeta was outgoing, loved finger painting and liked to see people laugh. She says he seemed to be tuned into human feelings.

Based on the works of author Edgar Rice Burroughs, the Tarzan stories, which have spawned scores of books and films over the years, chronicle the adventures of a man raised by apes in Africa.

Cheeta was the comic relief in the Tarzan series, originally starring American Olympic gold medal swimmer Johnny Weissmuller, who eventually took him into his own care.

Ms Cobb says Cheetah came to the sanctuary from Weissmuller’s estate sometime around 1960.

She says Cheetah wasn’t a troublemaker. Still, sanctuary volunteer Ron Priest says that when the chimp put on the odd movie-star tantrum, he would throw faeces.

UPDATE

It seemed a rare event (first reported in 1994 but initially regarded as an “urban legend”). However, twice now recently, workers have played a particularly dangerous prank on a colleague. A month after we reported story about Gareth Durrant’s lawsuit in England against co-workers who had inserted a compressed-air hose into his rectum, a carpenter’s assistant in Nicosia, Cyprus, was jailed for 45 days for pulling the same stunt on his colleague, rupturing his large intestine.
